Cedar Point (94)

(This is a long one..... and two weeks late)

Alright! Let's talk about my trip to Cedar Point with Jacob, Kaitlin, and Rachel! Oh, in case you didn't know, Jacob, Kaitlin, and Rachel are some friends from Elkhart. We were friends in high school... sort of... we became better friends later on in life... like when it actually mattered...  :)

So let's talk about the car ride first. It wasn't spectacular or anything, but it was awesome because we made jokes on the white board which featured very rude remarks that I probably shouldn't mention. We even had our own mixtape (made from my itunes... so it wasn't all that epic, really) to go along with our ride. Damnit, I wish I still remembered some of the remarks we made. We even hung them out for a few days too (for the whole world to see).

Once we got to our destination (and past that long road to get to our parking spot), we went into the hotel to check in, but to our dismay, we had to wait until 4pm to check in (rules are rules). So, we decided to buy our tickets for Cedar Point and go on ahead and spend our day there (Two day passes for both the theme park and water park FTW!).

Alright, I think this will be easier if I split this into two days instead of saying yeah, I did this the day after.

DAY ONE:
We go in (I'm like DAMN!). Seriously, I probably should mention that I've never been to Cedar Point so you can bet I was a little scared when I saw first hand how tall the roller coaster rides were. Kaitlin, Jacob, and Rachel were probably like "Sweet! Let's get on some rides!" (like they do this every day). But then I remembered all of those times I've been to Six Flags and how none of the rides were scary once you actually got on them (except for Deja Vu. O___O Damn that ride....).

I don't remember the order of the rides we got on or the names of them. I have a horrible memory. All I can remember was there being a line for everything and us going like "yay let's move on." We actually went on more rides the first day then in DAY TWO... aww damnit, I did it didn't I? (sequence break) Okay, so let's go back to talking about the first day... -_-;

We went to eat in this awesome all-you-can eat buffet inside the park. I totally recommend going here if you can find it (my lack of directions ^^;). It's seriously cheaper and more satisfying than anywhere else in the park (I promise...). We all went crazy with our food getting nachos and pizza and ice cream and hamburgers and spaghetti and tacos and you get the idea. SO MUCH FOOD! We stuffed ourselves so we felt like we had to go by that 30 minute rule before getting on a ride or else you puke rule. We decided to go into an arcade while we waited for our stomachs to settle down.

At the arcade, we somehow got the idea to attempt to get as many tickets as possible (5 dollars each. GO!). And that's how you have fun at arcades, I guess, but damn, we sucked. We played all of those lame games where you toss your tokens and hope you get lucky. In the end, we ended up getting enough tickets for a Jenga (type kind of...) game, two shot glasses, and some noisemakers. I think the only significant thing off that list was the Jenga type game which we later played...
EDIT: I also played Crazy Taxi at the arcade. I don't remember how much I spent on that game, but man that game is amazing! If you've never played Crazy Taxi, it's like a combination of road rage and silly music (with the secondary objective of driving people to their designated locations within a time limit).

So after a few more rides, we go back to the hotel to (finally) check in. We get to our rooms and find the nice cool air very appealing. Since we were outside in the sun for so long, we felt like we needed a break so we sat around for a little while. Or at least that's what Rachel, Jacob, and Kaitlin did. I passed out. I actually woke up two hours later alone in my room.
EDIT: Funny thing was that as soon as I collapsed on the bed, Jacob later mentioned that I unconsciously got under the blankets and positioned myself correctly while sleeping. That explains why I woke up all tucked in while remembering that I had collapsed on the bed on top of the sheets.

That made me kind of confused for a while. I went to the girls' room to knock to see if they were there and after about 4 tries, I gave up and thought that they were either sleeping or they ditched me to go back to Cedar Point. I didn't complain though. I wanted to get on the internet and (hopefully) blog about our time at Cedar Point. Turns out that didn't happen (that's why I'm sitting here like two weeks later writing this down). Yeah. The internet was terrible and after about 20 minutes of trying to load up my homepage, I gave up T^T. After that failure, I decided to read a chapter of this book I'm currently reading, A Clockwork Orange.

At like around 8pm, I finally decided to go back to Cedar Point (whether the rest of the group was there or not, didn't care at this point). I later found out that they went to the water park without me so that's why I couldn't find them at the theme park. Oh well. I got on some pretty sweet rides including the Top Thrill Dragster! The lines weren't as big either so I didn't have to wait too long by myself.

After my own little fun, I went back to the hotel room where the rest of the group was waiting. I remember trying to get them to watch a movie with me, but they were way more exhausted than me because they went to the water park and the fact that they didn't have a two hour nap like me. I sat around in my room playing PC games before caving in sometime past midnight. And so day one ends...

DAY TWO:
We woke tired on Day Two. All that fun on the previous day wore us out. But I think we somehow made the most out of it. The first thing we had to do when we got up was check out of our rooms as we were getting a new one later that day (a better one). And again, same rule applied T__T. Check in starts at 4pm. What a load of bollocks.

We did go back to the theme park to get on more rides, but the number of rides we got on was significantly less. After a while, we decided to go to the water park. I was the stupid one and forgot to put on my swimming trunks earlier so I had to go back to Kaitlin's car to change. I have to admit, I was taking my sweet ass time while Kaitlin and Rachel were baking in the sun. I remember that I kept forgetting things and had to keep running back to the car for something. First time, I forgot my wallet. Second time. I forgot to lock the car. Third time. I decided to go back to get a Vault so that I could drink it on the way back to Cedar Point. That was a good drink. And now we head to the water park....

The water park was pretty generic. Not much different than most other water parks I've been to. Our first ride (or watery equivalent of a ride) that we went on was the Lazy River (?), or at least I think that's what it was called. All we did during that ride was lay back and catch some ZZZZZzzzzz's. We were probably on that river for about an hour before deciding to go elsewhere in the water park.

Most other water rides were meh. They weren't all that special except for one of them which was the one where Rachel, Jacob, Kaitlin, and myself got on a floaty and went down a water slide. I don't remember the details, but man... that ride was intense. It wasn't the "OMGI'MGOINGTODIE!!" kind of feeling. It was the "SHITWEGONNAFLIPOVER!!" kind of feeling. We managed to prevent ourselves from flipping over, but there was too much hype over it that I think it would have been more hilarious if we actually did flip over.

So what's next? Oh yeah, the part where we bake ourselves... We went over to the tidal wave pool area places (whatever you wanna call it) too cool off after the hotness and the windiness... and the excitement. I got into the pool with Rachel as Jacob and Kaitlin decided to dry off in the sun. Me and Rachel didn't do much in the pool. We each managed to steal a floaty and ride the waves which was fun for about 10 minutes. I don't remember what me and Rachel talked about in the pool, but I remember us laughing our heads off. Or maybe that was just me laughing at those little kids who didn't know how to swim...  Well, anyways... after we got bored in the pool, Rachel and I went to look for Jacob and Kaitlin (damn our blindness). Jacob and Kaitlin were laying down right next to the pool so we decided to join them for a while. This is the part where we got sunburned [insert pictures of our skins peeling off after this even though they don't exist]. We got lazy again and laid around for quite too long.

We went back to the same buffet and later on went to T.G.I. Fridays. I'm just mentioning those here because I don't remember the order of things anymore. I seriously don't. The next thing I remember is us being in our new hotel room and debating whether or not we should go into the hotel's pool. Only me and Rachel ended up going because the other two were too tired. This is the part where Rachel was being a wimpy kid (that's right Rachel, I'm calling you out XD) because she didn't want to get in the pool because it was too cold for her. It took Rachel probably 3-4 minutes to get her whole body into the pool. There was an awkward moment because once she got into the pool, we didn't know what to do, so we decided to go into the jacuzzi instead. That was also awkward (Man, we're so lame). After about 20 minutes of us trying to decide on what to do, Rachel and I decided to go back to Cedar Point to get on some big ass rides. This is the part where I texted Jacob something like "see ya later, bitch," (as in we're ditching you, bitch) only to realize that Rachel and I had to get back into the hotel room (where Jake was) to change because we were both wet.

Changed and ready, Rachel and I went back to Cedar Point and got on some big ass rides. Kaitlin and Jacob should have come too. There were no lines anymore since it was like 9pm and the park closes at 10pm. Me and Rachel rode on a couple of roller coasters with only us two on them. It was awesome except for this one ride (Mine Ride) which caused some damage with every turn (ouch my lower back). I remember us getting on the Skyhawk three times in a row because there were no lines. But our fun had to end when the park closed and we headed back to the hotel with bugs in our hair from the night air (I don't know about Rachel, but I sure had some shit up there).

Our last little night was pretty sweet. Kaitlin ordered a double cheese, double pepperoni pizza for us to eat while we watched TV and talked about random silly things. Funny thing was that that same guy who delivered pizza to us had been delivering pizza around the hotel for quite some time now. We saw him in the lobby earlier and he recognized me when I answered the door.We all played Jenga too. I don't remember if that was before, after, or during the pizza, but we played it sometime that night.

So that concludes everything I remember about the Cedar Point trip at this point. I really enjoyed this trip just as much as I enjoyed Acen. It kinda sucks that I don't get to hang out with the buddies I made after high school (in Elkhart) or during the Japan trip a couple of years ago. Sometimes I think back and wonder what it would be like if we hung out more often...
